Decentralised mechanical extract ventilation
Climate Emergency, Conservation Area Toolkit – England, published by the Architects Climate Action Network in 2022, defines decentralised mechanical extract ventilation (dMEV) as a: ‘…system consisting of fans in all wet rooms which run continuously at background level instead of intermittently and have intermittent boost, with background ventilators (to admit fresh external air) in all living spaces and bedrooms.’
